My interview went great!
It was a wonderful experience for me. Maxine was awesome at making me feel comfortable and relaxed.
This is what my desktop looked like on August 25, 2004
I read the "Home Sweet Home" chapter of my book.
We talked about what it was like to lose my mother at such a young age and how it affected my life, and still does.
We talked about my being molested as a little girl and how that continued in my life and carried over into my teen years, eventually affecting my adult decisions. Getting in and out of three abusive marriages
was a long hard journey for me, due to my own poor decisions, lack of self-esteem and bad judgement. But, I survived to write "I Promise Not to Tell." I hope that my book can help someone out there.
A few people emailed in with questions and comments. I gave a complimentary copy of my book away to the first person to email. Her name is Tina McKinney.
She is the author of ALL THAT DRAMA. Congratulations Tina!
One person asked if I believe in corporal punishment.
I believe that with the national
problems with sexual and domestic abuse that a child should be given other options of punishment.
I think that spanking can be carried to far and when a parent crosses the line and spanks when they are angry themselves, it crosses that thin line between discipline and abuse. We, as parents, need to be careful with that. Violence promotes violence and our children grow up to use that violence against playmates and eventually the person they have a relationship with.
I talked briefly about my other writing projects. My upcoming new release, "John Horn-Legend of a Lumberjack," my plans for a sequel to "I Promise Not to Tell," another work of fiction about a small town with today's problems.
I have no idea how many people listened to my interview, but hopefully I will hear from some of those that did.
